Manchester United legend Gary Neville has advised Ruben Amorim to drop two players after recent performances.

Gary Neville has expressed serious concerns about Manchester United's midfield, following the club's 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United.

Neville singled out Brazilian Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, insisting that partnership could never work in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim left Kobbie Mainoo out of the starting lineup, opting for the experienced pair.

Gary Neville slams Casemiro, Eriksen partnership

"Casemiro and [Christian] Eriksen haven't got the legs to get around. Casemiro and Eriksen shouldn't be playing together in the Premier League," Neville said on Sky Sports.

"The two central midfielders can't run. The back three have no legs. They have been absolutely awful."

Neville did, however, offer some praise for a few Manchester United players.

"There are only three of them who can say they have been alright under Amorim: Dalot, (Noussair) Mazraoui, and Amad," he said.

The return of Manuel Uguarte from suspension should ease Amorim's midfield concerns as they head to Anfield for Sunday's big game.
