Turkish football expert named the two clubs most likely to sign Victor Osimhen in the summer.

Turkish football expert Ahmet Ercanlar said that Fenerbahce were not interested in Victor Osimhen, as they could not afford him, contrary to reports that linked the Nigerian win with a union with Jose Mourinho.

The 26-year-old currently plies his trade with Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig and has had a massive impact on football in the country. Hence, the Cim-Bom are reportedly interested in keeping him permanently.

Their Istanbul rivals, Fenerbahçe, were said to be monitoring the situation, plotting a possible hijack. However, Ercanlar, who has ties with the club, submits that they cannot afford the move.

What he said

According to a report by GsGazette, Ercanlar explained that the total package required to sign Osimhen permanently is about double the €75 million transfer fee, as he factored in his wages and commission for his representatives. Hence, he ruled out a possible Fenerbahce hijack.

“Victor Osimhen is not on Fenerbahçe's agenda,” he said. “Don't just look at Osimhen's transfer fee. His salary, agent fee, etc. are equivalent to 150 million Euros. Fenerbahçe has no such plan. It is incomprehensible to pay that much money to any football player.”

He also cast doubts on Galatasaray’s ability to sign him; however, he confirmed that Juventus and Manchester United were keen and able.

“Probably if Galatasaray gets him, the majority of the money from the Florya project will go there, but if Galatasaray can't get him, it will go to Juventus or Manchester United. I know these two clubs want him a lot.”

“Galatasaray should adjust its budget well. They spent 30 million Euros on right-backs alone for the last 3 seasons. They couldn't get any output from anyone. It didn't work after Boey.”
