The former Manchester United man is also unimpressed with the growing obsession around Zinédine Zidane’s potential appointment as France’s next manager.
Evra slams lack of respect for Deschamps
According to quotes from RMC Sport, Evra did not hold back his frustration over the way current France national team coach Deschamps is being treated.

The legendary coach, who has guided France to multiple finals, announced he would be stepping down after the 2026 World Cup, yet the conversation has already shifted to who will replace him.
France legend Zidane is the frontrunner, with even Kylian Mbappé hinting at his approval, but for Evra, this is a blatant lack of respect.
)
Speaking on a program hosted by another Les Bleus star Jerome Rothen, Evra said, “I find that there is a huge lack of respect towards Didier Deschamps given that we are talking about another national team manager while he is still in place.”
Evra insists Deschamps should have two World Cup titles
He also questioned why people are so quick to move on from a manager who has taken France to the latter stages of every major tournament.
)
The former France international added, “Are we not spoiled kids? Can people not stand being in the semi-final or final of every tournament? Do you prefer us to win or to play beautiful football?”
Beyond the Zidane speculation, Evra dropped a bombshell opinion about the 2022 World Cup final. He insisted that FIFA had already decided Messi should lift the trophy, even suggesting that some French fans wanted to see it happen.
)
The former Monaco and Juventus star concluded, “Okay, we haven’t won (a major tournament) since 2018 but we all know that in 2022, they gave the World Cup to Messi. It was all already written. Even the French wanted Messi to win it.”
While Argentina’s dramatic penalty shootout win over France was seen as one of the greatest finals in history, Evra does not buy into the fairytale. In his view, the script was already written, and Deschamps’ team never stood a real chance.
