“It was sad to see but the coach and the players have to take responsibility,” George told Brila FM.
Abbey George contends that the responsibility for the late goal should not be placed solely on Troost-Ekong, Nigeria’s captain, despite the latter's admitting his fault.

Nigeria has only earned seven points out of a possible 18 in the qualifiers, leaving them six points behind South Africa, who are leading Group C.
With only four matches left, their chances of automatically qualifying for the next stage look slim.
