Barcelona Star Lamine Yamal has hit back at claims that the Catalonia club only gets results against average La Liga sides after their 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid.

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal had strong words following his team's emphatic 4-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night,.

Responding to criticism that Barcelona only performs against average La Liga teams, Yamal hit back with chest-thumping after after a dominant display against their fierce rivals.

The resounding victory saw Barcelona extend their lead over Real Madrid to six points at the top of La Liga, making a powerful statement about their title aspirations.

The 17-year-old prodigy, who scored the third goal of the night, expressed his frustration with the notion that Barcelona could only perform against weaker teams.

“They said we were beating only normal teams. Now we beat Real Madrid 4-0 at their home,” Yamal said post-match via Cope as per Italian journalist Fabrizi Romano.

“We believe we are the best team in the world. We've proven that we can beat anyone.”

Yamal’s goal, which came in the 77th minute, demonstrated his adaptability and skill.

Real Madrid’s defenders repeatedly forced him onto his right foot in an attempt to neutralize his dangerous left, but Yamal responded brilliantly.

“Maybe Real Madrid players didn’t know I also have a right foot. So I should use it when needed, like tonight.” he expressed.

The youngster capitalized on the defensive oversight, driving a powerful right-footed shot past the goalkeeper to make it 3-0, sending the Bernabeu crowd into silence.

Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Raphinha also found the net in a night of stellar performances that left Real Madrid struggling to respond.

With their victory, Barcelona now holds a commanding six-point lead over Madrid, who sit second on the table.
