100m Paris 2024 Olympic gold winner Noah Lyles has reacted to Team USA's basketball team winning gold.

Team USA's basketball team recently won a gold medal at the just-concluded Paris 2024 Olympic event in France.

The number one basketball team in the world, Team USA, defeated the second-best basketball team, France, 98-87 in the final.

American track sensation Noah Lyles broke his silence on Team USA's gold medal in the men's basketball event.

Gold and bronze medallist reminded the USA's basketball team how difficult it is to be called an Olympic champion.

According to Daily Mail, Lyles said, “It's not a thing of if I consider or not. It's...they are. They're Olympic champions and in the Olympic champions you face the whole world.”

“And they saw how difficult it is,' Lyles added. 'And of course they came out on top and of course I knew they would.

“Because we have some of the greatest athletes but they saw you can't just slap everybody together and say. This is a great team.

“You know there was a ton of countries out there who said "Hey we're not lying down just because we don't play in the NBA. You know we have cohesion. We have our own way of playing the game.

“And there was a lot of close calls. But again, like myself, I have confidence in the U.S. basketball team that they were going to make it all the way.”

Lyles made his initial remarks regarding NBA season winners not being considered "world champions" in Hungary in August of last year.

The American was obviously sick of hearing the Denver Nuggets referred to as "world champions” but has now called them Olympic champions.
