Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has shared his thoughts on Erling Haaland's overall play after Manchester City's draw against Inter Milan.
Manchester City's Erling Haaland is still behind Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane in one specific area, according to the legendary Thierry Henry.
Both strikers have been in scintillating form this season, with Haaland netting two Premier League hattricks for Manchester City and Kane scoring a record-breaking treble in the Champions League for Bayern Munich to take his tally for the season to 9 goals.
However, their contrasting performances in recent European clashes have sparked debate.
While Kane was in free-scoring mode in Bayern's opener, Haaland drew a blank in Manchester City's 0-0 draw against Inter Milan on Wednesday, ending his goal-scoring streak.
Thierry Henry claims Haaland needs to improve, not on Kane's level
CBS Sports' panel, featuring Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, discussed Haaland's subdued display.
Henry questioned Haaland's overall game and ability to link play.
"Can he drop though, and get the ball?" Henry asked.
Richards responded, "It's not his game."
Henry pressed on, "I know it's not, but do you think he can drop, get the ball, and make things happen? Do you?"
Richards conceded, "Not as well as we'd like to see him, no, but I do believe his all-around game this season has improved from last season."
When presenter Kate Scott asked Henry if he thought Haaland could drop deep, he replied:
"I don't think he can, no. Go in the middle and play like Harry Kane can do. Right now? No."
Haaland has scored 9 goals in 5 games across all competitions this season and will hope to be back to his best against Arsenal at the Etihad this weekend.
