Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has identified the primary cause of the Super Eagles' 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying loss to Rwanda.
The Super Eagles ended their AFCON qualifiers with a 2-1 loss to Rwanda at the Uyo Township stadium on Monday.
The loss saw Nigeria’s unbeaten run in the group come to an end but maintained their position as the table toppers.
However, they already secured qualification to the 2025 AFCON competition in Morocco, with the loss not make any meaningful impact.

Rohr speaks about Super Eagles loss
Rohr claimed that Rwanda humbled the Super Eagles because the three-time African champions did not take the match seriously.
In quotes relayed by Fraternite, he said, "Against Nigeria, we were pegged back by Osimhen a few minutes before the end.
"I know this team well from having coached them. They sometimes tend to take their foot off the gas when they think they have qualified.
"This can give their opponents the opportunity to spring a surprise, as was the case with Rwanda."
The former Nigerian head coach revealed that the Super Eagles gave Rwanda the win and did not put effort to win the game.
The Super Eagles had nothing but dignity to play for on the last day of play in Group D of Afcon qualifying, as they were assured of first place in the group while Rwanda, Benin, and Libya fought for second place.
