AC Milan star Rafael Leao has revealed that Vinicius Jr. should have been given the Ballon d’Or Award instead of Rodri.
Last year, December Rodri was named the winner of the Ballon d’Or Award, beating Vinicius to the award.
Despite having a remarkable season with Real Madrid, winning the Laliga and the Champions League, he was voted as the second-best player.
Rodri’s win came with a lot of controversies, with fans claiming the Brazilian should have won the award.

Leao speaks on Rodri Ballon d’Or win
Leao has given his opinion about Vinicius not being given the Ballon d’Or award following Rodri’s win.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview, he said, “Of course, but for me the most important thing is to win a big trophy with the team.
“The Ballon d’Or is a consequence of the results with your club. That’s why my first ambition is to win the Champions League.
“And to do that I know I have to make the difference in every match, I have to be important for Milan.”
When asked who he would have given the 2024 Ballon d’Or award to, Leao said, “To Vinicius.”
Since joining Milan in 2019, Leao has seen a lot of ups and downs. He went from being primarily a replacement to being named MVP of a winning team.
