Tottenham captain has sent a heartfelt message of support to new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino as the Argentine gets set for life at Stamford Bridge.
Kane talks up Chelsea’s Pochettino
Kane was given his breakthrough by Pochettino when the pair were together at Tottenham, and the English forward has taken time out to wish his former gaffer well in his new position in what is proving to be a very difficult Chelsea job.
Pochettino and Kane are set to be in the same league once again after the Argentine coach took over from interim Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, and the England captain spoke in glowing terms about the new Blues boss saying, "Mauricio was an amazing manager for me. Great person, great, great coach.
“[He] helped me a lot to get to where I am now. So I'm really appreciative of him.”
Kane hopes to see Pochettino do well at Chelsea
Kane, who scored 30 goals in the just-concluded Premier League season with Tottenham was speaking to Reuters at an event announcing his investment in a new fitness-tech company, OxeFit, when he was asked about Pochettino joining Tottenham’s London rivals Chelsea
The 82-time England international replied, "Everyone has their career, everyone has their future. So all I can say is I wish him all the best," said Kane. "I hope he does well - just obviously not as well as us."
Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham this season, with Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Pochettino’s Chelsea all believed to be interested in a move for the striker.
