Son Heung-Min has entered the level of a Premier League elite after winning yet another Player of the Month trophy

Tottenham captain Son Heung-Min has joined manager Ange Postecoglou in celebrating the Premier League September awards after being named Player of the Month.

Son wins September Player of Month award

Spurs completed a Premier League award double for the second time already this month, as Postecoglou and James Maddison also claimed the league’s Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards in August as well.

Son was magnificent in the month of September, scoring six goals in four appearances for  Spurs, including a sensational hat-trick against Burnley at the start of the month.

The Korean forward has led from the front for Tottenham, helping Spurs overcome the loss of his former strike-partner Harry Kane, who departed for Bayern Munich this summer.

Son equals Premier League greats with September award

Son won the September award by finishing ahead of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

The September Player of the Month award was Son’s fourth such accolade in the competition, putting him on the same pedestal as greats like Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard, Thierry Henry, Mohamed Salah, Alan Shearer, and Dennis Bergkamp.

The award was also Son’s first since October 2020, ending a nearly three-year wait for a Player of the Month accolade.
