In an interview with Sky Sports, Bolt expressed his enthusiasm for Amorim, noting his impressive track record, including victories over Pep Guardiola.
"I’m really excited! The fact that he beat Pep twice is wonderful," Bolt remarked, indicating his belief that Amorim can instil a much-needed identity at the club.
While Bolt's comments generated buzz, Amorim has only beaten Guardiola once, during a recent UEFA Champions League match in which Sporting Lisbon triumphed 4-1.
Nevertheless, Bolt remains optimistic about Amorim's potential to revitalise Manchester United, with an identity.
“I heard his first interview, and it seems like he is going to bring identity to the club, and that’s what we were missing—the identity.”
“So, I’m excited to see if the players can work with him and stand behind him and do a great job,” he added.
In his first interview as manager, the 39-year-old United head coach emphasised the importance of playing with an identity while creating a positive environment for players and engaging with the passionate fanbase.
“The most important thing for me at this moment is to create the principles, the identity and the character that we had in the past,” Amorim stated.
Alongside Amorim, United have also confirmed the addition of five new coaches to his backroom staff.
This includes Carlos Fernandes as assistant head coach, Jorge Vital as first-team goalkeeper coach, and PAULO BARREIRA, who returns to the UK having previously plied his trade with rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, among others.
These appointments aim to support Amorim in implementing his vision for the team as he embarks on this new chapter, with fans like Bolt hopeful for a turnaround in fortunes.
