The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Sunday.

A man in his 50s tragically passed away on Wednesday evening while watching a football match at a beer parlor in Lagos.

According to the report filed by the unnamed beer parlor owner at the Elere Police Division, the deceased customer (whose identity remains unknown) entered the venue around 6:15 pm and settled down to watch the game alongside others.

The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin also confirmed the incident on Sunday.

"He was later observed to be sleeping on the chair, There was an attempt to wake him up, but they discovered that he was lifeless," Lagos PPRO Benjamin Hundeyin stated.

“The scene was visited by detectives of the division and the body was seen lifeless on the chair without any mark of violence.

“The body has been removed to Mainland General Hospital Mortuary Yaba, Lagos for autopsy. Efforts to trace his family are in progress,” he told NAN.
