Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is expected to leave South African side Chippa United this summer.

Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Thabang Stemmer has advised his former club to sign Stanley Nwabali this summer, saying the Nigerian shot-stopper can offer so much to the side.

Pirates are one of the frontrunners to land 27-year-old Nwabali, who also has interest from the Championship and Saudi Arabia.

Last month, Pulse Sport reported interest from Saudi side Al Ettifaq and English side Queens Park Rangers, but Pirates legend Thabang Stemmer believes Nwabali should stay in South Africa.

“The reason Pirates released the two, I think it’s because they want to beef up with Stanley Nwabali,” said Stemmer to Kickoff.

“Even when I was still playing, Pirates always beefed up with top goalkeepers. All the big teams need top goalkeepers.

"If Nwabali comes, it would be a good thing for Pirates."
