Liverpool have reportedly rejected a £70 million offer from a Saudi club for one of their attackers.

Liverpool have reportedly turned down a lucrative offer for striker Darwin Nunez from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.

The Uruguayan international has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Anfield, prompting speculation about his future.

Despite his decent record of 37 goals and 21 assists in 122 appearances for the Reds, Nunez has fallen down the pecking order under manager Arne Slot.

He has scored just four goals since Slot's arrival, leading to suggestions that the club could be open to selling him.

However, according to Anfield Watch, Liverpool have rejected a verbal offer from Al Hilal, believed to be in the region of £70 million.

The Reds are reportedly holding out for a fee closer to the £85 million they paid Benfica for Nunez in 2022.

Al Hilal's Darwin Nunez interest

Al Hilal's interest in Nunez is understandable, given their manager, Jorge Jesus, previously worked with the striker at Benfica.

Jesus is reportedly keen to reunite with the forward and believes he can rediscover his best form in Saudi Arabia.

According to the story, Liverpool's stance on Nunez's future remains unclear.

While they are reportedly open to selling him for the right price, they may also be reluctant to lose a player of his potential, especially with the club competing for trophies on multiple fronts.

What next for Nunez?

As per the rumour, Nunez's preference is unknown. He still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Anfield and may be willing to fight for his place in the team.

However, the lure of regular first-team football and a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia could prove tempting.
