You need to shut up and learn from Messi — Ruud Gullit to Real Madrid star
Netherlands legend Ruud Gullit believes one Real Madrid star must follow the example set by Argentina captain Lionel Messi.
Ferreira brings significant experience and goal-scoring ability to the Sounders.
In 163 regular-season MLS games with FC Dallas, Ferreira scored 53 goals and provided 34 assists, while also impressing on the international stage, scoring 15 goals in 23 appearances for the United States, including playing in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ferreira's arrival is a significant boost to the Sounders as they prepare for the FIFA Club World Cup, Concacaf Champions Cup, and the MLS regular season.
The prospect of competing in the Club World Cup alongside the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Lionel Messi's Inter Miami, and more was a major draw for Ferreira.
"I'd be lying here if that [the Club World Cup] wasn't one of the reasons why I chose Seattle," Ferreira said.
"When you're in a competition that big and you're playing against those teams, it's always an opportunity to show yourself and show what the team can do, and that we're able to compete at that high level of the stage."
The Sounders, who qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup thanks to their 2022 Concacaf Cup win, will be delighted to have a goalscorer of Ferreira's caliber as they head into the new season.
