Vipers Sports Club vacancy for the head coach position was made official Wednesday as Alex Isabirye formally threw in the towel following the club's decision to parade him before a disciplinary committee.
According to a reliable source, Vipers have been in talks with former TP Mazembe coach Frank Dumas. Dumas is reportedly the Vipers' first choice for the head coach role and favourite.
Ironically, Dumas lost his job at TP Mazembe last season after the Uganda champions eliminated his side to make it to the CAF Champions League group stage. Vipers are also said to be in talks with a yet-to-identified Brazilian coach.
While newly appointed assistant coach, Congolese tactician Raoul Lukusa Kayembe had also been tipped to take over the head coach role, a Kitende insider intimated to Pulse Uganda Sports that Vipers wanted Kayembe to serve the role of a fitness coach had Isabirye accepted to serve as an assistant coach.

FOOTBALL What does Alex Isabirye’s departure mean?
The departure also confirms that all the top three clubs from last season will now have new coaches calling the shots when the new football season kicks off.
Vipers' technical bench would have had Isabirye in an assistant role, Kayembe as a fitness coach, and a more experienced tactician as a head coach.
