Tuchel confirms Kane to remain England captain

The German tactician, who takes over from Gareth Southgate, believes that Kane is the ideal leader for the Three Lions. 

New England manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Harry Kane will retain the captain's armband.

Tuchel's appointment as England manager has generated excitement among fans, and he has already outlined his plans for the future.

He aims to build on the strong foundations laid by Southgate, while also introducing his tactical philosophy and style of play.

What Tuchel said

The German manager has also expressed his desire to speak with former England boss Gareth Southgate and Under-21 coach Lee Carsley to gain valuable insights into the squad and the challenges facing the national team.  

The German tactician, who takes over from Gareth Southgate, believes that Kane is the ideal leader for the Three Lions.  

"There is at the moment no need to think about change. Harry was always a top captain for England. So why do you even think about it at the moment?," Tuchel stated.

He continued, "I will reach out to him. It should be a clean start and a clear narrative," Tuchel said about Ben White.

"I will be in the stadiums from January. I will also not distract the players and they should just know: 'Okay, the boss is there from January'."

Tuchel's appointment has raised hopes that England can finally end their long wait for a major trophy.
