FKF CUP Tumewaramba vile inafaa! Kakamega Homeboyz mock wounded AFC Leopards

Abana Abeingo scored two goals in the first half that propelled them to the ultimate stage of the domestic competition.

After eliminating AFC Leopards from the 2023 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup in the semi-finals, Kakamega Homeboyz have mocked their arch rivals.

Following victory in the Ingo Derby, Homeboyz referred to the aborted Premier League match that was disrupted by fans at Bukhungu Stadium in April.

The game was brought to a halt just after Homeboyz had taken the lead, and the cup match at Nyayo Stadium was their first meeting since then.

"Mpende, msipende, lazima kichapo! Mlitoroka kichapo mkidhania mtaponea, leo tumewaramba vile inafaa.

[Whether you like it or not, we have defeated you. You ran away, thinking that you would survive today. We have beaten you convincingly]," Homeboyz posted on their Facebook page after a 2-1 victory on Saturday.

The defeat is a double tragedy for AFC Leopards, as this was their only chance of laying hands on any trophy this season. After blowing hot and cold in the league, their wait for a title on that front will continue.

In fact, their head coach, Patrick Aussems, had emphasized the importance of this game over last Sunday’s Mashemeji Derby clash against Gor Mahia. To Aussems, the derby was just a training match for the game against Homeboyz.

After beating K’Ogalo, Ingwe, and their fans were buoyed ahead of the Nyayo Stadium clash against the Kakamega-based outfit.

Before the match, Homeboyz’s chairman, Cleophas Shimanyula, had warned that Ingwe would suffer a ‘massacre’ and that the 1998 league winners would be taught how to play football.

Homeboyz will now have their full focus on the final match against Tusker.
