Staphan Siwa was the hero for the Brewers in a match played at Nyayo Stadium.

Tusker FC won their fifth consecutive game in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) after defeating Kenya Police FC 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Ruaraka-based side only made one change from the squad that won against Mathare United as Lawrence Luvanda came in for John Njuguna and joined Shaphan Siwa, Rodgers Ouma, and Eric Otieno in the attack.

On the other hand, Police made two changes to the team which faced Nairobi City Stars on Wednesday.

Francis Kahata replaced fellow attacking midfielder Alvin Mangeni while Reegan Otieno replaced David Okoth as the Law Enforcers searched for their second successive league win.

Tusker dominated possession from the start, but the hosts found it difficult to unlock Police's defence and test goalkeeper Job Ochieng.

The home side grew into the match and they came close to scoring when Shaphan Siwa headed over the crossbar with only Job Ochieng to beat with the visitors' defense exposed.

Ochieng was finally tested by Siwa from a set piece and the former Mathare United custodian made a comfortable save at the near post.

Both teams created chances with the half-time break approaching as David Simiyu forced Brian Bwire into a save from a set-piece before Tusker defender Charles Momanyi sent his header over the bar.

The score was 0-0 at half-time with the two teams having failed to take their chances.

Francis Baraza made changes introducing Clifton Miheso for Reegan Otieno, and Elvis Rupia for David Simiyu while Alvin Mange’ni came in for Derrick Otanga as the visitors pushed for the opening goal.

Police mounted pressure on the Brewers' backline which defended very well to thwart the Law Enforcers - protecting shot-stopper Brian Bwire.

However, Tusker looked dangerous on the counter and Eric Otieno's goal-bound effort hit the crossbar with Police goalkeeper Ochieng well beaten.

The Brewers were living dangerously at the back around the hour mark, as Police were spirited to get the opener but that opened up the game, with the visitors missing a host of chances.

Robert Matano’s charges then had their tail up and opened the scoring in the 69th minute when Staphan Siwa made a solo run to the front from Michael Oduor’s delivery from the Brewers half to make it 1-0.

Police marksman Elvis Rupia had a chance to level matters with ten minutes remaining to the end of the match with a long-range looping shot that was eventually saved by Brian Bwire.

Charles Momanyi, who was having a great match for Tusker, produced a crucial tackle to stop Francis Kahata from pulling the trigger inside the box in the closing stages.
