On Wednesday, the Brewers will welcome strugglers Wazito at Ruaraka Grounds.

Tusker coach Robert Matano has cautiously suggested his team is on track for success, having closed the gap at the top of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) to one point following their 1-0 win over Kenya Police on Saturday afternoon.

The Lion refused to be drawn into saying his team is nearing what he wants from them, even after completing a double against the Law Makers, one of the title hopefuls.

“ We are keen not to drop any points as we advance as the race is far from over. We can only hope for the best as the season progresses.

Again, I emphasize that our focus is to end the league on a high, and we want to win all the remaining matches,” he said.

Matano was thrilled at the result as Tusker dominated their opponent in most of the proceedings.

“ The work, the team, did today was very good. My players contained our opponents very well in both halves apart in the opening ten minutes of the second stanza,” he concluded.

Tusker are second on the log with 51 points from 24 matches, while Gor Mahia are on top with 51 points from the same number of matches played this season.

The Brewers are preparing to face Wazito in a league match to be played on Wednesday at Ruaraka Stadium.

A win for Tusker will put them in the standings if Gor Mahia fails to get maximum points against Posta Rangers on Sunday, 16 April, at Nyayo Stadium.
