Luvanda has shown his appreciation to his Tusker teammates.
Tusker FC players dedicated Saturday's win over Mathare United to winger Lawrence Luvanda, whose mother passed away this week.
The Brewers beat Mathare United 2-1, with Shami Mwinyi scoring the winning goal in the FKF Premier League match played at Ruaraka Grounds.
Following the 29-year-old's strike, the Tusker players ran toward their bench, where they all gathered to acknowledge the teammate during this difficult time.
Luvanda was granted compassionate leave by Tusker at the beginning of this week.
After the news of the death broke, the club sent their condolences to the player; "Tusker takes this opportunity to condole with our winger Lawrence Luvanda and his family after the demise of his mum."
Luvanda was joined by his teammates Humphrey Mieno, John Macharia, and Rodgers Ouma at his mother's funeral in Kaimosi on Saturday.
The player responded in a Facebook post, "Thank you, Tusker Football Club, for love and support you've shown towards my family and me."
Mwinyi's goal came in the 71st minute after he was left unmarked by Mathare United's defense outside the penalty box.
Ibrahim Joshua broke the deadlock in the 55th minute, but Mathare found an equalizer nine minutes later, courtesy of Donald Ange.
Luvanda has impressed since joining Tusker in 2021 from National Super League side Vihiga United.
