“I dedicate this goal to the fans. We did not disappoint. we hope we can win the Federation title this year.” A chuffed Oyugi said.

Tusker FC midfielder Shaphan Oyugi has expressed delight at scoring the solitary goal that helped the Ruaraka-based outfit get one over Kenya Police FC on Saturday.

The midfielder, who was signed from Biashara United in January 2022, has also insisted that the side's collective performances as a team is the most important thing at this stage of the season.

“This is a great win because we are trailing the winners,” he said. "We need every three points from every game. They beat us in the first leg which gave us the drive to get all three points today,” he added.

“I am happy to score because I want to help the team and I am glad to be back on the scoring sheet.

“I dedicate this goal to the fans. We did not disappoint. we hope we can win the title this year.”

Tusker are on a great run of form, winning five league games in a row. They sit just one point behind league leaders Gor Mahia, establishing a tight title race with 10 games of the season left to play.

Tusker are picking form at the right time this season. Despite losing forwards Ibrahim Joshua and Deogracious Ojok to injury, they are still scoring goals regularly from other sources in midfield. Against Mathare United, Rodgers Ouma netted 2 goals.
