Tusker FC midfielder Mike Oduor believes their 3-1 victory over Nairobi City Stars is the turning point in their season after spate of poor results since the campaign started
Tusker FC midfielder Mike Oduor believes they have opened a new page following their comprehensive 3-1 victory over Nairobi City Stars on Saturday.
Robert Matano’s men put up one of their best displays of the season when they put City Stars to the sword to end their two-match losing run.
Oduor delivered a man of the match performance with a goal and assist in the win, opening the scoring after just two minutes, when he headed home Bonface ‘Kajos’ Onyango’s corner before David Odoyo scored the second in the 19th minute.

FKFPL Kenya Police boss Zdravko Logarusic hopes rivals will slip in title race
The 58-year-old tactician hopes his title rivals, including Gor Mahia will find themselves “in trouble” and slip in the race for the title.
Tusker were home and dry before halftime when Oduor floated in a beautiful free-kick from the left, with Joseph Mwangi heading in the third in the 43rd minute.
Although Samuel Kapen gave City Stars some hope with a 63rd minute goal, Tusker were untroubled as they walked away from Machakos with all three points and Oduor believes the brewers are now back to their brilliant best.
“The win was important because it is like we have opened a new page. We sat down as players and decided to work as a team to fight for three points so that we go back to where we deserve to be,” said Oduor.

FOOTBALL AFC Leopards coach insists charges will need more time to adapt to his methods following Posta draw
AFC Leopards coach Tomas Trucha has warned fans against expecting instant results as he feels his side will need time after experiencing many changes before and during this season
“We have received support from the technical bench and the office which has added to our motivation so we must have something to bring to the table.
“The performance has been good and we tell the fans that the journey has now started. We do not want to go back again. Now, it is win, win until the end.”
Victory left Tusker in 10th position on 14 points, eight behind leaders Posta Rangers, but it is not where last season’s runners up want to be.

FKFPL Chaos soil Gor Mahia's clash with Murang’a Seal as police lob teargas to disperse rowdy fans [VIDEO]
Running battles were witnessed inside Kasarani Stadium as fans clashed with security personnel following Gor Mahia’s draw with Murang’a Seal in an FKF Premier League match.
Matano’s charges have had a poor start to the season, suffering five defeats in 11 games while they have won four and drawn two, adding pressure on the tactician.
That has pegged them back somewhat and even with leaders Posta Rangers and Gor Mahia drawing three of their last five games, the brewers have failed to capitalise and will hope to pick up some momentum after the two-week international break.
