The brewers are looking to make it two wins in four days against the bankers while the soldiers seek to end bad form by going past Batoto ba Mungu

Reigning FKF Premier League champions Tusker FC will renew their rivalry with KCB just four days after meeting each other in a league encounter, seeking to make it back-to-back wins in their cup quarter-final fixture to be held at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday.

The brewers won on Wednesday courtesy of a wonder strike from Michael Oduor, who incidentally tormented his former employers. However, Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno’s charges will have the chance to make amends by winning the fixture at the second time of asking.

KCB will face an uphill task to overcome Tusker, considering the fact that they have never beaten them since 2015. The head-to-head record bends in Tusker’s favour, with Robert Matano’s side winning six, drawing as many and losing just once against them.

They were, however, dealt a blow with captain Michael Mutinda set to miss the clash after sustaining what looked like a very nasty knock during the closing stages of the first match.

Mutinda has been instrumental in providing some energetic presence to the midfield alongside Apollo Otieno for the side, on top of his influence as captain.

For Tusker, defensive midfielder, Charles Momanyi should be available, having missed the first encounter after picking up a knock in training on Tuesday. However, Levin Joseph picked up an injury on Tuesday, forcing Daniel Sakari to play as a makeshift left-back and it remains to be seen whether he will be available for the game on Saturday.

Just two hours later, Sofapaka will face Ulinzi Stars at the same venue, with both sides seeking to make amends for their underwhelming league campaigns by getting to the semi-finals.

Batoto ba Mungu head coach, David Ouma will be seeking to get the win over the Bernard Mwalala-coached outfit just two weeks after conceding a late equaliser in the dying moments of their league encounter to prevent him from getting all the three points.

Ulinzi are on a poor run of form, losing thrice and drawing twice in five league matches, while Sofapaka have lost just one of their last five, collecting two wins and two draws in the other.

Ulinzi, however, boast a better head-to-head record compared to their opponents. In 19 encounters, they have beaten them eight times, drawn as many times and lost just thrice. They will be hoping this “heritage” will help them out.
