The Brewers have opted against extending the stay of the center-back who had fallen out of favour in Robert Matano's side.

Tanzanian defender Kalos Kirenge has left Tusker FC after two seasons at the club.

Kirenge joined the Brewers in 2021 and was among the key figures for Robert Matano's side at the start of the 2021-22 campaign but later fell out of favour and became a bit-part player.

At the time, Matano preferred a partnership of Christopher Oruchum and Eugene Asike before Charles Momanyi, Mike Kibwage and Tom Teka later kept the Tanzanian out of the team.

"We would like to confirm that Tanzanian defender Kalos Kirenge has left the club after two seasons," Tusker said via Twitter while confirming the 29-year-old's exit.

"Thank you for everything 'Mzee munyama'. All the best in your new adventure."

The lanky center-back joined Tusker from Tanzanian side Namungo FC and was part of Matano's squad that won the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title in the 2021-22 campaign.

Kirenge would have left Tusker a year earlier after agitating for a move in search of regular playing time before the start of last season but he was convinced to stay and fight for his place.

Tusker are creating room for new arrivals as they seek to banish the disappointment of last season when they lost the league by one point and missed out on the FKF Cup after losing to Kakamega Homeboyz in the final.

Captain Humphrey Mieno, Jackson Macharia, Michael Wanjala, Shami Mwinyi, Kevin Monyi and David Majak are the other players rumoured to be on their way out of Tusker.
