Exciting midfielder turned down overtures from Homeboyz to extend stay at the brewery.
Tusker FC midfielder Jackson Macharia has committed his future to the club by signing a new deal that runs to 2024.
The 28-year-old joined the Football Kenya Federation Premier League( FKFPL) side in 2016 and his contract was due to expire at the end of the season.
Macharia is one of the long-serving players among the current squad, having joined the club seven years ago from Thika United.
“We are delighted to announce that our midfielder Jackson Macharia has extended his contract at Ruaraka by a year,” the club announced.
Macharia has since established himself as one of the key players on the Robert Matano side, and the new deal has erased any doubt about his near future.
It was reported that Kakamega Homeboyz were interested in him and had secretly sent an official to his home to negotiate with the striker and sign a pre-contract.
The creative midfielder has made over ten appearances for Tusker this season, scoring three goals.
Macharia has shown tremendous growth in recent years, and many football analysts describe him as a full package, as he is every defender's nightmare in the penalty area.
He also does the dirty work to ensure the Brewers' back is always covered.
The player earned his first call-up to the Kenya national team in May 2017 and is expected to be included in Harambee Stars' provisional squad for the upcoming friendlies against Burundi.
