The Tanzania international had been struggling to overcome a long-term knee injury that had been affecting him since 2022.

Tusker FC striker Ibrahim Joshua has opened up on the challenges he went through during rehabilitation in order to step up his recovery from an injured knee.

Joshua had been struggling to overcome a long-term knee injury that affected him since 2022 which effectively ruled him out from playing a lot last season as they just missed out on both domestic trophies.

Joshua has recently returned to action, making a couple of appearances as a substitute as he works his way to fully recovering from injury.

The Tanzania international has opened up on how that dark period dealing with injury affected him.

“It has affected me alot because it is my job,” Joshua told the club’s media channel.

“You are given everything in place to thrive but of course, there are challenges you encounter that prevent you from giving the team service which affects you psychologically but I thank God that I am slowly getting back where I am after this difficult period.”

Joshua has thanked the club’s physio Enos ‘Biggie’ Karani for enabling him to stick to trusting the process in order to help him return to 100 percent sharpness without rushing things.

“I am getting back to where I was which is motivating me and I thank my physio Biggie (Karani) because he has been with me every step of the way.

“I was trying to force him to get me back on the pitch as fast as possible but he was calming me down and I have been with him every step of the way.

"I was getting anxious to return quickly because I had never suffered an injury as big as this one. I had never had to undergo an operation before.

“Biggie was giving me a program and telling me to trust the process and I am grateful even for the team for sticking by me through this difficult period.”

Tusker overcame Bidco United 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon, with Joshua’s competitor Erick Kapaito producing a Man of the Match performance.

Kapaito scored twice and provided an assist, which will leave him breathing a heavy sigh of relief after going without a goal in any of his appearances since arriving in Ruaraka in August.

The Brewers will next face Nzoia Sugar at the Sudi Stadium in their next league fixture as they attempt to continue surging up the table after a slow start to the season.
