Borussia Dortmund lost 2-0 to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final and some big players let the Bundesliga side down.

Dortmund's run to the UEFA Champions League final was impressive but their players failed to deliver when it mattered most.

Here are three players who failed to shine in Wembley.

1. Jadon Sancho

Sancho had a disappointing night under the Wembley lights, providing next to nothing for Dortmund in attack.

Despite his failings on the biggest stage, he still looks a different player from the one who left Manchester United in January.

2. Ian Maatsen

The man on loan from Chelsea struggled early when pressed by Fede Valverde, but linked and moved well as Dortmund cut through Madrid in the first half, including a sublime pass for Niclas Fullkrug.

However, he switched off at the corner to lose Dani Carvajal for the opener and made a dreadful pass which led to Vinicius Jr making it 2-0 to finish the contest. Feels a harsh rating,

In the end, his mistakes decided the game in favour of Los Blancos.

3. Marco Reus

A disappointing cameo from the Dortmund legend, as his introduction in place of Adeyemi completely killed their attacking momentum.

In his final run-out for Dortmund, the midfielder was unable to work his magic.
