Ademola Lookman: Super Eagles forward named 'King of Serie A' after latest goal
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman enjoyed his latest away trip with Atalanta in the Serie A.
Mateo Retegui continued his brilliant form when he again opened the scoring for Atalanta in the ninth minute with a powerful strike after a clever through ball from man of the match contender De Ketelaere.
However, Young Boys quickly equalised just two minutes later through Silvère Ganvoula, marking the first goal conceded by Atalanta in this Champions League season.
After the equaliser, Atalanta regained control. De Ketelaere's first assist came shortly after, as he set up Odilon Kossounou to restore the lead.
He continued to dazzle with another assist for Sead Kolasinac and added a goal of his own to give Atalanta a 4-1 lead at the break.
The Belgian forward scored again in the second half, showcasing his dribbling skills before finishing with a deflected shot. Lazar Samardzic capped off the night with a late goal, bringing the final score to a comprehensive one.
Ademola Lookman's Absence
Notably absent from the thrilling action was Nigeria's Lookman, who remained on the bench throughout the match.
Lookman, 27, had been instrumental in Atalanta's previous Champions League encounter against Stuttgart but was not required this time as his team cruised to victory without him.
Despite being in fine form this season with nine goals and five assists across all competitions, two goals and one assist in the UCL, his presence was not missed on this occasion.
This commanding win keeps Atalanta firmly in contention in their Champions League group and extends their winning streak to seven consecutive matches across competitions.
In the absence of Lookman, Gian Piero Gasperini’s champions demonstrated their offensive ability and strength in depth as they continue to build on their successful campaign.
