The winner of the tie between Uganda and Rwanda will advance to the second round, where they’ll face Cameroon with the second leg away in Yaounde.
Uganda Crested Cranes will launch their campaign to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic women's football qualifiers against neighbours Rwanda.
CAF conducted the draws on Tuesday mid-morning in Cairo, Egypt, for the 25 teams that registered to take part.
Rwanda had been placed in pot three and Uganda in four as CAF organised teams from neighbouring regional blocks to play against each other.
The Crested Cranes will host the first leg before heading to Kigali for the return. Both legs will be played from July 10th to 18th.
The winner of the tie will advance to the second round, where they’ll face Cameroon with the second leg away in Yaounde.
Cameroon, Zambia, Tunisia, Morocco, Nigeria, Botswana and AWCON defending champions South Africa were exempted from the first round.
The ultimate winner from Uganda’s 2nd round circuit will face their equivalent in Ethiopia/Chad versus Nigeria route.
Only two teams from Africa will qualify for the Paris Olympics.
