The gaffer attributed the success to team spirit and dedication.

Ulinzi Starlets coach Joseph Mwanzia has lauded his charges for playing to instructions against Thika Queens on Saturday.

Starlets came into the match hungry for victory and found their opener in the 38th minute courtesy of Fasila Odhiambo.

The side's captain Sherly Angachi scored the second goal in the 74th minute before the former Kenya U-17 international Odhimabo completed a brace in the game's dying minutes.

In a post-match interview, Mwanzia said he was happy to pick maximum points against Queens after losing their last three home matches.

"This season we have been playing very poorly at home. We beat them 3-0 at their own backyard in the first leg and we again did it at home.

I'm happy that my girls gave their all in that match and that was a worthy challenge," said Mwanzia as per Nation.

Thika Queens, who were expected to dominate the game, struggled to string up passes and had just two open chances that they failed to convert.

However, Queen's coach Fredrick Majani remained positive despite growing frustrations due to mounting losses.

"Just a few errors cost us the win. I believe my girls can still improve, there are areas we will work on. We still have room to move to the top and be among the title contenders," said Majani.

Ulinzi Starlets have claimed ten wins from 16 matches they have played this season and are currently sitting in the third spot on the log.

Thika Queens, on the other hand, remain fifth with 27 points from the same number of matches.
