Ulinzi Stars have set their sights on challenging Tusker FC at Ruaraka as they aim to extend their winning streak.

As Ulinzi Stars prepare to clash with Tusker FC at Ruaraka Stadium on Wednesday afternoon coach Antony Kimani is filled with optimism and eager to continue their impressive performance in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

The Soldiers, riding high on the confidence of a resounding 4-0 victory over Shabana, are poised to test their mettle against a Tusker FC side that recently clinched a 1-0 win against Sofapaka.

"Another tough match against Tusker, a team that has not been in the best form lately, but we recognize the quality within their squad. We know they are capable of a resurgence, so we'll go back to the drawing board, identify areas for improvement, and ensure we are well-prepared to face Tusker," coach Kimani expressed, underlining the challenge ahead.

Kimani reflects on the team's journey this season, acknowledging the rough start they experienced.

"We started the season badly, struggled in the first few matches, but I am delighted to see the players regaining their footing," he admitted, highlighting the resilience and progress made by the squad.

In the quest for improvement, Kimani points out that tactical adjustments will be crucial. He mentions that the team had been creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities in their previous matches but struggled to convert them.

However, their last encounter against Shabana saw a breakthrough, with the team demonstrating composure and precision in front of the net, resulting in a commanding victory.

Enosh Ochieng, a key player for Ulinzi Stars, is set to be a focal point in the match, having netted two goals against Shabana. His skill and craftiness could pose a significant challenge to Tusker FC's defense, which has shown vulnerabilities in recent performances.

As the teams head into this encounter, Ulinzi Stars currently occupy the 10th position in the league standings with 10 points earned from eight matches played in the season. Meanwhile, Tusker FC finds themselves in the eighth position with 11 points, having won three, drawn two, and lost three of their matches.

Looking at their historical head-to-head record, Ulinzi Stars and Tusker have squared off 21 times in league matches since 2014. Tusker holds the advantage with eight victories, while Ulinzi Stars have secured five wins, and eight matches have concluded in draws.

Recalling their meeting last season in March 2021 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, the teams played to an exciting 2-2 draw. Hilary Simiyu and Musa Masita found the net for the Soldiers, while Tusker responded with goals from Humphrey Meineo and Christopher Momanyi.

With the stage set for their upcoming encounter, both teams have their sights on securing crucial points in the league. Ulinzi Stars will seek to maintain their upward trajectory, while Tusker FC aims to rekindle their winning ways.
