Omondi will likely return to the pitch in late March.
Ulinzi Stars midfielder Francis Omondi is set to return to the pitch with the club issuing an update on his progress as he recovers from injury.
Omondi suffered a right knee soft tissue injury last month and has since missed his side's last six Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) fixtures.
The midfielder's initial prognosis meant he would be out for three months but an update from the club has suggested he is well on the course of recovery.
"Francis Omondi is currently undergoing a rehabilitation program after sustaining a knee injury in an FKF Premier League match against Kenya Police FC.
Once he completes the six weeks process, he will be reviewed by the doctors again," the club said in a statement.
This will be good news for coach Bernard Mwalala who needs his best players in the squad in the title chase.
Omondi joined Ulinzi Stars at the beginning of the 2022-2023 FKF Premier League season from Kakamega Homeboyz.
The former Mathare United and Modern Coast Rangers ace has made eight appearances this season.
Ulinzi Stars are placed seventh on the FKF Premier League table with 24 points from 15 matches played this season.
Bernard Mwalala's charges will next face Gor Mahia on Saturday in an FKF Premier League match set to be played at Ulinzi Sports Complex in a 3 PM kick off.
