Running battles were witnessed at Kasarani Stadium as fans clashed with security personnel following AFC Leopards’ defeat to Nairobi City Stars in an FKF Premier League match.

Trouble was witnessed at Kasarani Stadium following AFC Leopards' 3-2 loss to Nairobi City Stars in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match on Saturday.

Shortly after the final whistle, a section of fans caused mayhem outside the match venue leading to running battles with the security personnel.

Two fans were rushed to hospital after going down unconscious during the chaos that lasted almost an hour.

Leopards players and technical staff had to be locked in the changing rooms as fans wanted to break in, forcing police to use teargas and rubber bullets to disperse them.

Ingwe suffered their fourth defeat of the season when City Stars took a 3-0 lead inside 61 minutes before they fought back to reduce the arrears.

Vincent Owino opened the scoring for Simba wa Nairobi in the 31st minute before Samuel Kapen made it 2-0, 10 minutes after halftime and Robinson Asenwa would score the third in the 61st minute.

It looked like Leopards had no way back after that but Brain Yakhama grabbed one in the 83rd minute before Victor Otieno made it 3-2 six minutes later but it was too little too late for Ingwe as City Stars held on for maximum points.

Defeat means Leopards have just won one game this season, having drawn five and lost four, and remain 15th on the table with eight points, a scenario some of their fans find hard to fathom.
