Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has revealed that she was honoured the meet with Brazilian legend Marta.
Nigeria suffered a 1-0 defeat to Brazil in their first Olympic game with Abiodun making a start in the opening game for the Super Falcons.
The Brazilian legend Marta assisted Gabi Nunes in scoring the game's winning goal, giving the Female Canaries three points.
Marta had the opportunity to tie Cristiane's record for the most goals scored at an Olympic Games but her goal was disallowed for offside during the buildup.

Abiodun happy to meet Marta
Abiodun who played the midfield role during the game revealed her conversation with Marta on the social media site X.

She recognised the impact the renowned Brazilian has had on football, citing his legacy as an inspiration to players of all ages.
The former Rivers Angels midfielder has been an important member of the Super Falcons despite losing the first game. She has three appearances for the national team, including her current Olympic participation.
Following the loss, Nigeria now has 0 points, bottom place in Group C, behind only Brazil and Spain. Japan is in third place, also with zero points.
The Super Falcons will play again on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 6 p.m. to improve their tournament results against Spain.
