Defending champions Uganda Martyrs University will be keen on extending their invincible start to this season's Pepsi University Football League when they play host to Kabale University at Nkozi on Friday.

The Martyrs needed a late goal to beat University of Kisubi 2-1 away, last time out, while Kabale University suffered a 6-0 humbling at the hands of Bugema University.

Uganda Martyrs now lead Group A proceedings as the only team with a 100% record, and they will fancy their chances of extending their winning streak on Friday, considering their impressive home form.

Conversely, Kabale head coach Farouk Nsubuga has yet to kick into gears but will fight ahead of a tie with one of the league's heavyweights.

"We are coming back stronger. We have rested mentally and physically to be ready for this game, and we have improved in the areas we were below par from the last game," he told the press.

"Uganda Martyrs seems to have the speed, and if I may say, when you play against the Saints, you need to close the highway, and that's what we have prepared to do," added Nsubuga.

Nsubuga will depend on the services of Alleluyah Muzoora, who has been a revelation at the heart of the Kabale University midfield, but his brilliance will need a team effort.
