UPL UPL: KCCA-Express gets new date after CAF Confederation Cup exit

KCCA has played only one game in the league so far, losing to BUL FC by 1-0 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League first-round fixture between KCCA FC and Express has been rescheduled.

The match had been placed on the fixture without a definite date to allow KCCA to take part in the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds.

However, the Lugogo side was bundled out of the competition by Libyan side Abu Saleem 5-4 on aggregate.

The Uganda Premier League secretariat has confirmed that the fixture will now be played on Sunday 8th October at Lugogo.

“SUPL Match#8 KCCA FC Vs Express FC was not played on match day one due to KCCA FC participation in the CAF Confederation Cup,” UPL explained before revealing that, “The said match has been scheduled and will be played on Sunday 8th at 3 PM.”

KCCA has played only one game in the league so far losing to BUL FC by 1-0 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

They face Maroons on Tuesday 3rd October at Lugogo.

On the other side, the Red Eagles have registered mixed results by sharing spoils in a goalless draw against Mbarara City and then a 2-0 win over Busoga United in Njeru.
