Drama ensued towards the end of the match when Ivan Okello seemed to have handled Okur’s cross from a corner.

There was a moment to remember as centre referee Muzamir Waiswa opted to use a video replay to save an impasse between Kataka and Blacks Power in the betPawa Big League on Sunday.

Kataka grabbed the lead in the 43rd minute through Swamad Okur but Blacks Power pulled level shortly after the hour-mark through Michael Siwu’s freekick.

However, drama ensued towards the end of the match when Ivan Okello seemed to have handled Okur’s cross from a corner.

The centre referee, Waiswa, pointed to the spot, sparking outrage from the Blacks Power’s contingent.

After a brief review in the FUFA TV’s outside broadcasting van, Waiswa rescinded his decision and awarded possession to the visitors before sending off their coach, Bob Obira, who had turned chaotic on the bench.

Kataka found the winner in the fifth minute of additional time through Latif Ssenkubuge, who fired in a rebound from Steven Namaisi’s throw-in for their first win.

Ndejje’s troubled start

Ndejje University’s woes spilt over into the 2023/24 season as they suffered their second loss at the hands of Lugazi.

Sam Ssemugugu bagged a brace in the 6th and 64th minutes, respectively, before Derrick Mwanje sealed the win in the 90th minute.

The loss is the second after going down to Kaaro Karungi in their opening game of the season.

The Luweero side is a pioneer and longest-serving member of the betPawa Big League.
