Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has spoken about his frustrations over a lack of game time for the club this season.
Lindelof, 28, has struggled to make an impact under Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag this season, making only 21 appearances. Crucially, just 9 of those have been in the Premier League.
The Sweden international has made just five Premier League starts over the same period, with Ten Hag preferring the defensive pairing of Raphael Varane and Argentine World Cup winner, Lisandro Martinez
Lindelof frustrated by Manchester United situation
The situation has become a source of frustration for Lindelof and he was asked about his lack of game time during a pre-match press conference for Sweden’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Belgium.
He said:
“Of course like every player, you want to play every game and obviously I haven’t done that this season.
“But like I always say when I come here (international duty), it’s a pleasure to be here and I’m always happy to represent my country.
“Like I said, I want to play, that’s why I play football, I want to play games, but I haven’t thought about that (a transfer away), right now I’m just focusing on the national team and then of course, the rest of the season with the club.
“Then in the summer we’ll re-evaluate and see what is best.”
