Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been nominated for the 2023 IFFHS Men's World Best Player award.
The accolades continue to roll in for Victor Osimhen who has bagged another nomination, this time for the 2023 IFFHS Men's World Best Player award.
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) have nominated Osimhen along with 24 other players as a recognition of his exploits in the 2022/23 season.
Osimhen would have to compete with notable names such as Lionel Messi (the current holder of the award), Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Antoine Griezman and Bukayo Saka amongst others for the 2023 IFFHS Men's World Best Player award.
Osimhen's 2023 accolades so far
The IFFHS nomination is the latest in a long list of international recognition Osimhen has gotten in 2023 so far after his fantastic outing last season.
Osimhen scored 31 goals in 39 games across all competitions for Napoli, inspiring the Italian club to their first Serie A title in 33 years.
The 24-year-old has since won the Serie A Striker of the Season award and also recently won the AIC Player of the Year award voted for by Italian footballers.
Osimhen also finished eighth on the 2023 Ballon d'Or rankings and is in the running for CAF Player of the Year where he is nominated in the final three along with Achraf Hakimi and Mohamed Salah.
