Victor Osimhen: 'Do it even if it costs a lot' — Ex-Man United star begs Red Devils to sign Nigerian ace

Former Manchester United striker implored the club to go all out for Victor Osimhen even if it costs a lot of money.

Despite the transfer window having since closed and the player's subsequent move to Galatasaray, former Manchester United striker Louis Saha still insists on the club signing Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen to Manchester United

With the Nigeria striker embroiled in a transfer saga all summer long, as clubs shied away from matching Napoli's ask for his signature, former Red Devils forward Saha urged the club to make the move for the former Lille man

The Red Devils were indeed in the race for Osimhen but opted for another striker from the Serie A, Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee. Another Premier League club, Chelsea, were close to an agreement but failed to seal the deal before the window shut.

With the collapse in his relationship with Napoli, an exit was necessary; hence, he moved to Galatasaray, as they took advantage of the unique Turkey Super Lig market that stays open after the European window shuts, to sign him, albeit temporarily—a season-long loan.

Saha pleads again

The 46-year-old retired French striker has not given up his desire for his former club to sign Osimhen. Saha was himself a striker for the Red Devils from 2004–2008, and he believes the former Royal Charleroi striker will be a perfect fit for the Erik ten Hag-led side.

“I don’t know if it’s a realistic option, because he (Osimhen) is on loan at Galatasaray, but if you’re talking about a proven goal scorer with pedigree, he is the man. He would instantly improve the team,” Saha said, per the Daily Star.

“If you signed Osimhen, you’re not signing potential. You know exactly what he is going to give you. A striker like Osimhen is exactly the kind of signing that Manchester United need to make. If it takes a lot of money, and it will to sign Osimhen, you go and do it.”

Meanwhile, Osimhen recently got off the mark for Galatasaray, scoring a brace in the 3-3 draw at the Rams Stadium against Kasimpasa. While there were rumours he could leave in January if a top European club met the financial requirement, Galatasaray's leadership have since dismissed the notion and even went further, confirming that they are planning on keeping the Nigerian beyond the current season.
