Olivier Letang has cleared the air on the amount Napoli paid Lille during the transfer in 2020.
Lille President Olivier Letang has revealed that the club received significantly less than the widely reported figure for Victor Osimhen's 2020 transfer to Napoli.
While the deal was initially believed to be worth over €70m, including player exchanges, Letang claims Lille only profited around €7m.

“The net amount, considering the player’s purchase, four players valued at €20m, but who were worth nothing, intermediaries and commissions, was €7m, more or less,” Letang revealed via Gazzetta.
Italian and French authorities investigate transfer saga
The Osimhen transfer has been the subject of investigations by authorities in both Italy and France.
However, Napoli's lawyer, Mattia Grassani, stated last year that the club had been cleared of any wrongdoing by two different levels of the Italian justice system.
Grassani also pointed out that Napoli was the only club where the prosecutor did not request a review of the judgment, contrasting their situation with Juventus's Serie A point deductions.

No congratulations? Reactions as Osimhen flaunts diamond pendant worth millions after Lookman's CAF Award
Fans thought Victor Osimhen did not congratulate Ademola Lookman after the Atalanta star took over the reins to become the African best.
“Napoli have already been judged on this matter with two different levels of the justice system that cleared the club and directors, finding no irregularities,” the club lawyer Mattia Grassani said last year.
“Napoli is the only club where the prosecutor did not ask for the judgment to be revoked, which then led to Juventus having first a 15-point and then a 10-point Serie A penalty.”
Since joining Napoli, the Nigerian international has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances, playing a pivotal role in their historic 2023 Serie A title win - their first in 33 years.
Osimhen is currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray, where he has maintained his impressive goal-scoring form, netting ten goals in 14 appearances.
