Some have even sensationally claimed the snub could be payback for Osimhen's recent scathing Instagram rant where he launched an astonishing attack on Nigerian legend Finidi George.

'I need an urgent reply @CAF_Online,' demanded one furious supporter, with another raging: 'CAF decided to use Moses Simon's image as the face of Nig football while creating awareness for the #AFCONQ2025 when top superstars from other African countries were recognized.'
