Napoli star Victor Osimhen has reportedly accepted Chelsea's weekly salary offer as he closes in on a move away from Italy.

The summer transfer window has seen Chelsea and Al Ahli go toe to toe for the signature of Super Eagles star Osimhen.

However, the Saudi Arabian side have prioritised Ivan Toney over Osimhen and have booked a medical for the striker.

Chelsea are now considered the favourites to sign the 2023 African Best Player and are negotiating a loan deal with Napoli.

Chelsea and Osimhen agree personal terms

Chelsea and Osimhen are currently on good terms after it was reported that he has accepted reduced wages compared to his previous demand.

Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba reported on X, “The Victor Osimhen transfer saga seems to be leaning toward a move to Chelsea.

“According to my sources—not Victor or anyone from his camp—as of 11 p.m. last night, he agreed to a weekly wage of €350,000 with Chelsea. Initially, he sought €500,000 per week, but Chelsea persuaded him to accept the lower figure.

“However, Chelsea fans shouldn't celebrate just yet, as this drama is far from over. The Saudi clubs are still in the race and are offering even more money.

Chelsea bargained the Nigerian striker's initial demand of €500,000 per week down to €350,000.

According to reports, Napoli have allegedly accepted Chelsea's bid to sign the Nigerian star, signalling the end of the lengthy transfer dispute between the two clubs.

As the transfer window closes, Osimhen's destiny could take unexpected turns, so things are still unstable.
