The Blues discussed several options in case a move for Osimhen failed, but ultimately made no offers.

Chelsea considered four strikers in the final hours of the transfer window when their move for Victor Osimhen looked set to fail.

Chelsea’s Osimhen interest

The club explored various structures for a pay deal for the Napoli striker; however, the Blues could not reach an agreement due to the player's exorbitant demands, which exceeded the club's financial structure.

Chelsea’s Osimhen alternatives

With the Osimhen deal off the table, Chelsea discussed different options according to The Athletic

Aston Villa's Jhon Duran was considered but ultimately rejected after a thorough review, Lille's Jonathan David was another option explored by the Blues and Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin was also discussed, with talks involving Chelsea counterparts Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana

Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak was another player the Blues had inquired about for most of the year, particularly when they were facing financial constraints in June.

However, acquiring Isak would have required a club-record transfer fee, and the Magpies always considered selling their star forward as a last resort.

What comes next?

Chelsea stuck with Nicolas Jackson as their leading striker after Osimhen’s failed transfer, with the West London club agreeing to extend the forward’s contract, tying him to the Blues until 2033.

Osimhen is reportedly set for a temporary switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray
