The Kenyan Champions gear up for the ultimate challenge in the continental tournament in Côte d’Ivoire 2023.

The stage is set for the highly anticipated draw of the CAF Women's Champions League as Vihiga Queens, the reigning champions of the FKF Women's Premier League, brace themselves to discover their opponents.

The draw, which will take place on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in Rabat, Morocco, marks the beginning of an exhilarating journey towards the CAF Women's Champions League Côte d'Ivoire 2023 Qualifiers.

Vihiga Queens had a remarkable season, capturing the 2022/2023 FKF Women's Premier League title with an impressive tally of 55 points.

Boniface Nyamunyamu's charges finished seven points clear of their closest contenders, Gaspo, securing their place as the team to beat in Kenyan women's football.

This is not the first time Vihiga Queens have made their mark on the regional stage. They emerged victorious in the inaugural CECAFA qualifiers in 2021, earning the opportunity to represent Kenya and the CECAFA region in the inaugural continental tournament held the same year.

According to CAF, the tournament has gained tremendous traction since its inception in 2021.

The previous edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations, held in 2022, achieved unprecedented success, with the final broadcasted in over 85 countries, making it a truly global spectacle.

As the CAF Women's Champions League enters its third edition, all eyes are now on Côte d'Ivoire, the host nation for the upcoming tournament in 2023.

While the exact dates are yet to be confirmed, anticipation is building for another captivating showcase of talent and determination.

The defending champions, AS Far from Morocco, clinched the title on home soil in the previous edition by defeating holders Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.

The prize money for this prestigious competition saw the winners set to receive USD 400,000, while the runners-up will be awarded USD 250,000. Additionally, the two losing semi-finalists will each receive USD 200,000.

The draw, which will be conducted in Rabat at 18h00 local time (8 pm East Africa Time), will be streamed live on various CAF digital platforms and CAF TV partners.
