SC Villa tactician Jackson ‘Nelly’ Magera is primed to sweep the February/March Pilsner Coach of the Month award after landing a nomination.

Magera is expected to beat URA’s Sam Timbe and Maroons' Muhammad Senfuma to the award on Thursday at Kati Kati.

During the period, Magera took The Jogoos from the third to the top position in the Startimes Uganda Premier League, leapfrogging BUL and KCCA.

SUPL Bright Villa hold tight onto log summit

StarTimes Uganda Premier League record holders SC Villa tightened their grip on the summit after a narrow 1-0 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars FC on Tuesday at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Unbeaten

Villa went unbeaten, only dropping two points in a 1-all draw against Gaddafi in Jinja as they beat Onduparaka, Express, BUL and Busoga United.

Senfuma guided Maroons to three wins against Busoga United, Wakiso Giants and Arua Hill and scrapped draws with KCCA and Soltilo Bright Stars.

In the same month, Sam Timbe’s URA won three games and lost one against Busoga United on their return to Lugazi; they beat Onduparaka, Express and BUL.

The Jogoos lead the table with 40 points, four ahead of KCCA, with three games at hand and ten above BUL in third place.
