Sources suggest that a deal could be finalized soon, and if all goes according to plan, the Congolese-born striker could find himself donning the Venoms' jersey in the upcoming season.

Vipers SC is on the verge of securing former Express FC striker Erick Kenzo Kambale, potentially filling the void left by the departure of Brazilian striker Rodrigues Giancarlo Lopez.

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions have set their sights on Kambale, and negotiations are said to be progressing rapidly.

Sources suggest that a deal could be finalized soon, and if all goes according to plan, the Congolese-born striker could find himself donning the Venoms' jersey in the upcoming season.

Brazilian forward Giancarlo  officially confirmed his departure from the St. Mary's Stadium, two months after completing the move to Kitende.

Despite signing a two-year contract with the Uganda Premier League champions, the lanky striker cited 'personal reasons' as the main for his exit.

Kambale has spent the last two seasons with Sudanese giants El Merreikh, having joined them from Express FC last year.

Interestingly, Egyptian Premier League club Ceremica Cleopatra FC recently struck a deal with El Merreikh for Kambale's transfer.

This agreement involved a three-year contract for Kambale, which reportedly included a clause granting El Merreikh 15% of any future resale of the player.

Kambale's stint with El Merreikh was characterized by limited playing time, making his departure from the club quite foreseeable as a new season approaches.

His omission from the club's squad for the 2023/24 season further fuelled speculations about his next destination.

The striker made a significant impact during his time with Express FC since his arrival in Uganda in 2018.

During his tenure with the Red Eagles, he showcased his scoring prowess by netting an impressive 33 goals in 84 appearances.

His contributions were instrumental in guiding the club to a league title and a CECAFA Kagame Cup victory in 2021.
