Winger Abdu Lumala's bicycle kick was wrongly ruled out for offside in the 75th minute, and there was no coming back for the champions.
Vipers SC were bundled out of the FUFA Super Eight Tournament following a 1-0 loss to BUL FC Thursday evening at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte scored the lone goal to help the Oil Manufacturers cruise to the semi-finals.
BUL went ahead three minutes into the second half through Ssekamatte's penalty after Ashraf Mandela had brought down Reagan Kalyowa in the box.
But the game was not without a bit of drama as the Startimes Uganda Premier League champions were denied an equalizer that could have changed the face of the game.
Winger Abdu Lumala's bicycle kick was wrongly ruled out for offside in the 75th minute, and there was no coming back for the champions.
A clip of the disallowed goal has since been making rounds on social media, and Vipers, the bereaved, have joined in to wonder why their goal was disallowed.

FOOTBALL FUFA Super 8: BUL eliminate defending champions Vipers
It should be noted that this was the first time the tournament got played in over four years, with the last edition coming in 2019.
"Abdu Lumala denied an outstanding bicycle kick," the Vipers' official Twitter page posted and asked: "Where was the offside ?!"
The post also has the goal for the online referees to watch and debate whether the call was the right one.
The last time BUL were involved in this kind of 'goal-no-goal' scenario, they ended up replaying their Stanbic Uganda Cup clash with SC Villa.

FOOTBALL Vipers fans react to Mamelodi Sundowns meeting
Vipers SC have announced they will play South African giants and Dennis Onyango's Mamelodi Sundowns in a hugely anticipated international friendly.
The Jogoos had been eliminated by BUL after a 1-0 win in Njeru but had what appeared a genuine equalizer towards the end of the game ruled out for offside.
Will there be any such scenario in this case? We can only wait, but there have been stranger things in Ugandan football.
